Free Samples!

Firstly, I am SO sorry I didn't blog about this as soon as I discovered this website! It's only now that I've realised its true greatness so decided to share it with you all! (If you've already heard of it, please ignore me. I'm used to being the last one in the know!)

The website is called What's in my Handbag and it is full of great offers and opportunities to try sample sizes of products for free. I'd completely forgotten about signing up and requesting a sample of the Emma Hardie cleansing balm until I dropped by the post office to pick up a mystery package (I was convinced it was going to be some crappy catalog) and this is what I received...

How nice is the packaging! And it was 100% free! (Can you tell how giddy I am?!) Unfortunately, the free Emma Hardie samples offer isn't on anymore but definitely check the site for future deals (when I first signed up I saw an Alpha H offer which I'd missed, booo) and also have a look at the Korres deal they have on at the moment. I'm so tempted but having spent £30 on Korres at TK Maxx this month I think I'm going to have to be good. I can however, totally and completely recommend the wild rose lip butter which is included in that offer, I have one and it is a complete and utter staple product for me.

Korres at TK Maxx

If I had the money I think I would buy one of everything from Korres so when I was wondering round TK Maxx yesterday and saw these, I had to buy! It's £5.99 for the body butters (usually £12.50) and £3.99 for the shower gel (usually £8). I used my body butter last night and I can honestly say it's incredible, the best one I've ever used I think, and the shower gel smells so Christmas-y and lovely! Shower time heaven indeed!

So yeah, if you fancy treating yourself or just stocking up on Christmas prezzies (I'm going back for more to do this!) you should definitely check them out.

Matte Nails

My new obsession. I can't get enough of this Rimmel Matte Finish Mattifying Topcoat recently. I bought it when it was on 2 for £7.00 at Boots making it much cheaper than other matte topcoat offerings (ie Essie's matte about you). I think it works best over nudes (as shown bellow) and over metallics. When used with metallics you can still see the glitter in the polish but it makes it look more like eye shadow, if that makes sense?!

The only downside about this polish is that the effect does wear off meaning it needs to be reapplied every couple of days. However, it dries pretty quickly so this really doesn't bother me. Great product- I recommend.

OOTD

These pictures were taken at the student shopping night at Eldon Square earlier in the week. I had just come straight from uni after spending 8 hours on my feet in labs (I didn't even have time to eat!) so comfort was definitely my top priority with this outfit. I bought the jacket for £8 from the vintage section at The British Red Cross in Newcastle. When I bought it it had horrendous shoulder pads but I hacked the buggers out as soon as I got home and thankfully it fitted okay without them.

I have been loving this lip balm recently! It's the perfect colour for when I want a red lip but can't be bothered with the maintenance as it fades evenly and you can apply it without a mirror. It's really pigmented and a great dupe if you can't justify paying £16 for a chubby stick. I do however prefer the formula of my chubby- I find it to be more moisturising and I really don't like the menthol scent of the Revlon one but maybe that's just me?

I am not a trainer person at all and I have been so surprised at the amount of wear I get out of these! I got the black ones with the black soles so that they wouldn't cut my legs off and so that I wouldn't look like I was reverting back to the days when "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" was my favourite album. They go with everything and they're so comfy! Who'd have thought it!
